Prom Makeup

Hey everyone... here it is! I am thrilled that I got it up in time before all the proms are over with haha! If you check out this slideshow for the first prom/wedding makeup that I did then you can get an idea of what it will look like in pictures. I used a lot of the same products, this new one is just a little bit more toned down.

Here is the first one that I ever did, and one of the first videos that I ever uploaded!

Now here is a tutorial, that is pretty much the same look!

Hope you all enjoy!

Spa Sollutions

Hey everyone! I am really trying to get back into the groove of blogging and uploading videos haha! So today I come to you with some great Sigma Skincare Products! As someone with really dry skin, I sometimes feel like I find myself having to exfoliate a little more than others haha...

Sigma has a great deal going on right now (as they always do), featuring their skincare products.

I love how Sigma is always offering some sort of great deal. Right now when you spend $30 or more on their website you receive a complimentary cleansing and polishing tool attachment to go  on one of their cleansing and polishing tools! It's just $39 to purchase the tool itself that already comes with 3 attachments or $59 to purchase one that comes with 6!

This is such an amazing deal either way you look at it... normally you would most likely spend waaay more on some sort of cleansing tool like this, so I would definitely check it out!

Rent the Runway

Hey guys! I wanted to tell you all about this really awesome new site that I heard about... it's called Rent the Runway! I figure that with prom season starting to be in full swing,  this might be a great option for some of you!

Here's how it works:

1. Search from dresses and accessories from top designers in the world. For any occassion!

2. Reserve your dress and accessories (you get a backup size totally free too!)

3. Then when you return whatever you rent it is totally free to return them! What is so amazing is that you rent the dress for only like 10% of what it retails for... so you can have an amazing dress that would retail for like $500 and only spend like $50-55!!

Definitely go and check out their site! --->Rent The Runway

What's Your Prom Style?

What's Your Prom Style?
With prom getting closer and closer it's definitely time to start planning ahead.. stores will soon be putting out dresses, if they haven't already, and believe it or not now is a great time to go ahead and make hair appointments and reserve limos!!

My aunt owns a salon and has been a stylist since before I was born, and she told me years ago, when I was in high school, that she has people making appointments to have their hair done for prom months in advance. So that is something that I definitely recommend doing!

With a million different things going through your mind while trying to plan everything perfectly... maybe this post will help you pick what style of dress you want this prom season. When I think prom dresses one thing definitely comes to mind... SEQUINS haha! Only I don't really like an entire prom dress in sequins and all glittery, but some really does make it feel more like prom. I really like the purple dress on the bottom right, it has the sequins, but not so much that it's taking over the dress! I chose lots of different styles and colors too... well there are a lot of purples which I sorta just noticed haha, I guess I just like those particular dresses because that was definitely not intentional!

What is your favorite style of dress this prom season?

Valentine's Day Manicure

I know I have been a little bit MIA over the last few days or so... if you follow my other blog Foxxys Wifey then you know that my anniversary is tomorrow!! Yeppers that's right, it is on Valentine's Day. So over the weekend my hubby and I went on a little weekend getaway just to have some fun. I will blog all about it on my other blog!

With all of that being said, since tomorrow is Valentine's Day I thought that today's post would be for a cute festive manicure to go with the theme of the holiday haha!

Isn't this one super cute? I thought the little hearts were really fun looking!
How creative is this one? I would've never thought to do my nails in this "heart candy" theme!
I don't know what it was about this manicure that I liked so much.. but I just do haha...

These next to are really more of like a "classic Valentine" manicure.. not crazy or bright like the others haha! They are just really beautiful will look great on everyone.
Who doesn't love a white tip french manicure... it just feels so timeless and pretty!
This last one is probably the one I will be sporting haha... I just absolutely love the light pink, and it goes with just about anything you wear even though it's pink! I am really loving the color of "kim-pletely in love" from the Nicole by OPI line...

What will your nails look like tomorrow?

I wanted to film, edit, and upload a Valentine's makeup tutorial by tonight, but that's not looking like it will happen so I am so sorry for that! Since I have been gone I haven't had the chance to film anything...

Valentine's Date Outfits

Valentine's Date Outfits

I am back with another round of Valentine's Day outfits. This time for a date night look. Since I couldn't decide which one I chose a few haha! If you have a lil LBD this is a great time to pull it out. I would wear some red or pink pumps for that festive pop of color haha. Just pair one of the red dresses with either some nude or black heels, either one would look really great! Then I came back to those softer shades and found this beige dress with a light pink belt, I paired it with some light pink peep toe heels.

I tried to think reasonable when choosing these dresses. If you live somewhere like me, then it's pretty chilly out in February. So I went for a few dresses that have some longer sleeves. For the beige dress I would just add a cute denim jacket, that way you stick with the vintage feel of the look.

What will you all be wearing for your date night?

Cute Valentine's Day Outfit

Pretty in Pink

I put together a little outfit for a cute Valentine's Day look. I just paired a vintage lace top with some light washed skinny jeans. Then I picked a pair of light pink high heels to add a little pop of pink hehe! I found a super cutee flower ring that just so happens to match the little flowers on the sides of the shoes (personally I could go for the shoes without the flower, but they are still cute).. I also threw a pink mixed bead bracelet set along with the ring for some extra accessories. Lastly, I added a light pink handbag to match the shoes.

To me Valentine's day always makes me think of soft flirty colors, or totally the opposite and bright colors haha! For this particular look I just wanted something a little more casual, but yet still really cute.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Valentine's looks!

Makeup Collection & Storage

It is finally here... I wasn't sure at first whether or not I wanted to film this video because I know how cruel some people in the world are. However, it was a requested video and I didn't want to let anyone down.

Please know that this was not a video intended in any way to brag about anything that I may have that someone else doesn't!! I love watching other people's makeup collection and storage videos, so I hope that you all enjoy mine.

DIY Facials

I was looking around online and found some neat DIY facials. A facial is great for your skin as well as your own outlook! Since not everyone can afford to go out and get a facial I thought maybe this might be helpful...

Soothing Facial

An at-home treatment designed by a leading holistic skin-care expert offers the perfect recipe for a healthy glow -- and inner calm. All that is required is lavender essential oil, a washcloth, almond butter, skin toner, and your choice of honey, yogurt, or avocado.

What You'll NeedOrganic lavender essential oil
Cotton washcloth (use organic cotton when possible)
Organic almond butter
Skin toner (try Avalon Organics' Lavender Hydrating Toner or Dr. Hauschka's Facial Toner)
Choose one: honey, organic strawberry yogurt, or organic avocado
Facial How-To
1. Pre-cleanse.
After thoroughly removing any makeup and rinsing your face, fill a sink with warm water. Add two to three drops of lavender oil and stir with your hand. Soak the washcloth in the lavender water, then wring it out and gently press it against your face and neck for 30 seconds.

2. Cleanse.
Put one teaspoon of almond butter and a few drops of lavender water in your palm; rub your hands together to create a paste. Apply to skin using a "press and roll" method, which helps remove dead cells, dirt, and oil: Press your palms against your forehead and roll them outward. Moving down your face and neck, continue the motion until you reach your collarbones. Return to massaging your forehead, and repeat the process for one to three minutes.

3. Rinse and Tone.
Use another washcloth soaked in lavender water to remove the almond cleansing cream from your face. Rinse with cool water and apply toner.

4. Apply a mask.
Choose one of the following masks, depending on your skin's needs:
- To Moisturize Dry SkinHalf of a mashed organic avocado
- To Brighten Dull Complexions
Organic strawberry yogurt
- To Rid Pores of Impurities
Honey

Apply a thin layer to your face and relax for 20 minutes. Then remove the mask with a warm, wet cloth, and rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.
There you have your at home facial! Would you guys want me to do more posts like this one here? Let me know in the comments below please! Don't forget to check out my new Forum too!

Crazy Beauty Tricks

Hi everyone! I am finally back after being literally "disconnected" from the world... not only was my phone over my minutes on my plan until today, but my darn internet had totally broken so I had to go and buy a new wifi connection for it earlier, and I like this one waaaay better!

Today I have some crazy beauty tricks for everyone!

OATMEAL
Soothing and anti-inflammatory, oatmeal contains beta glucan, a soluble fiber that creates a thin, moisture-retaining film on the surface of the skin. Place a handful of whole oats in a clean washcloth and use a rubber band to secure it. Next, immerse it in a sinkful of warm water and squeeze the bag four or five times. Once the water is cloudy, splash it on your face and then air-dry. (If you must towel dry, pat as gently as possible.)

AVOCADO OIL
Avocado oil's abundant fatty acids help balance skin's moisture levels, and the antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E protect skin from further damage. Combine equal parts avocado oil and evening-primrose oil (which supports collagen synthesis with its gamma linoleic acid) in a sealable bottle and shake to blend. Massage five or six drops into clean skin, and then cover your face with a warm washcloth for a minute to help the oils sink in.

ORANGES
The fruit acid loosens dead skin cells. Cut a fresh orange in half and squeeze the juice of one half into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup olive oil and then blend into a moisture-rich scrub. Next, rub the exposed side of the other half of the orange over knees, elbows, heels, and any other dry spots. Last, rub in the sugar mixture to slough off dead skin. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry.

EGGS
Eggs' high protein content helps improve hair's resilience and luster. Whisk together 1 egg, 2 tablespoons coconut oil (rich in moisturizing fats), and 2 tablespoons sesame oil. Apply the mixture to dry hair and wrap a hot, moist towel around your head. Relax for 5 to 10 minutes. Without wetting hair first, work in a handful of shampoo, then rinse and condition your hair.

BEER
Yeast and hops help to swell the hair shaft and plump the cuticle, adding volume. The acidity of the beer helps remove built-up product residue. In the shower, after you've shampooed, pour a bottle of beer over your hair. Rinse briefly with fresh water (the idea is to avoid the Eau de Barfly effect while retaining the beer's body-boosting benefits). A rich beer with a high yeast content works best. (Read: No light beer.)

ALMOND OIL
This nut oil makes a great hand moisturizer. With a light texture and loads of vitamin E, almond oil quickly penetrates dry skin and protects hands and nails from environmental damage.

Rub 1 teaspoon of oil into hands and cuticles. Wrap each hand in a small towel, and allow the oil to penetrate for at least 5 minutes. Wipe the excess oil off hands, but don't rinse them; any remaining oil will be absorbed over the next few minutes. Follow with a rich hand cream.

KIWI
The high vitamin C levels in kiwi fight free-radical damage and even out skin texture. When scrubbed on the face, the seeds act as tiny exfoliators, leaving skin smooth.
Peel and slice a ripe kiwi, then mash the flesh thoroughly with a fork. With circular motions, work the kiwi paste onto a damp, clean complexion, avoiding the eye and lip areas. After 30 to 60 seconds of scrubbing, rinse skin with warm water and pat dry.

OLIVE OIL
Rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, olive oil is a Mediterranean-inspired favorite for moisturizing brittle and overstyled hair.
Before showering, comb several tablespoons of "light" olive oil (it will say so on the label) through hair, working from roots to ends. Cover hair with a shower cap. After showering for 5 to 7 minutes, remove the cap. Shampoo, rinse, and condition as usual. Hair will feel super soft.

I hope you all enjoy these little beauty tricks! Be sure to check out my other blog as well and check out my new FORUM!
