Holiday House Tour 2014

How I Color My Hair + Eyebrow Tinting @ Home

Hey everyone! I am doing a little videos series this year just for the month of December. I didn't want to do Vlogmas, just because I feel like it's all vlogs. Although, there will probably be a couple thrown in to this series anyways haha. Last year I only did around 6 different ones for the #HollyDaze (which is my little title I came up with lol)! This year I am going to do my very best to get a video up every other day until Christmas, so altogether around 12 videos will be going up. This is the first time I am ever going to try my hand at a video series. I just called them that last year, but never intended for it to be an actual video series!

With that ridiculous ramble, here is my first #HollyDaze video. This one is how I color my own hair at home + how I tint my brows if I am feeling feisty haha!

How our Thanksgiving went down!

Here is a little peek at our Thanksgiving! This year it was just myself, the hubby, and the kiddos... so our meal wasn't as large as what we normally do!

 Landon! Honestly I think this picture was taken the day before, but I can't remember haha!

 sweet potato casserole! I never liked this dish until I made it last year... now I LOVE it!

Updated Make-up Collection, Storage, and Setup + Nails (2014)

I know it has been a few weeks since I last posted a video. I got a new camera thank goodness! Technically it's my Christmas present, but I couldn't wait to start using it.. Mainly because I finally got a Canon Rebel, but also because the quality on the one I was using wasn't so great anymore. I guess it's getting old haha! Just so you all know, I filmed this video like 4 times because I am still learning how to use this camera, so any tips on using the Canon Rebel cameras would be amazing lol! Also, the intro was filmed on my old camera.

Anyways... here is my updated make-up and nail polish video. This one is totally different from all of my previous ones for a few different reasons, which you will see right away in the video!

No Bake Halloween Snack

Hey everyone! Here is a super quick and easy no-bake Halloween treat. I love this because of three reasons: number one it's super easy and the kids can even help, number two it involves oreos, and the third reason is just because it's so cute haha! I actually started this video off with more than one treat and then realized I forgot some things in order to make them. So hopefully you all don't mind this short but "sweet" video! See what I did there? Hehehehe! :)

Funky Cheshire Cat Makeup

I decided to try something I have never done before this year! I wanted to try out some of the Halloween makeup things that you can buy every year at places like Wal-Mart... So I decided to try out a Cheshire Cat look from Alice in Wonderland, using some of the makeup crayons that I purchased in my recent Halloween haul.

Keep in mind this was my first time ever using them or even doing anything like this haha! Regardless though, I hope you guys enjoy this video, or get some inspiration from it.

Halloween Haul!!

My new video is finally up!! Here is a semi large haul video full of lots of Halloween items. Everything from party supplies, to decorations, and even some makeup too!

90% of the items shown were purchased at the Dollar Tree, so you know they are really inexpensive haha! There are also some things that I found at Wal-Mart that weren't too pricey.

Fall Date Night Outfit

For today's post I decided to share an outfit of my own that I recently posted on instagram that would be great for a date night...

Every part of this outfit is super affordable and 99% of it can be found at Forever21, which is where I actually purchased it from haha! You all know my recent obsession with skater skirts so I found this floral print one here. For the top this is the one I chose to pair with the skirt--> knit sweater. I fell in love with these buckled pumps too! I was a little skeptical at first about whether or not the heel height would suffice, but they turned out perfect. My first choice wasn't available in my size, so these were my next option. Now for my accessories I paired my Michael Kors watch in rose gold and my purse is one I found on Etsy a little over a year ago. Here is another quilted purse almost identical to it though!

I also want to point out that my go-to clothing item for fall is a pair of tights(stockings)... they can definitely transition your clothes in to the fall, and help to keep you warm. For this particular outfit I would either go for a solid pair of opaque black tights, or a sheer skin toned pair!

Steal the Look: Kendall Jenner (great for a Fall night out)

I came across a picture of Kendall Jenner on polyvore and decided I wanted to try to recreate the look myself... Mainly because I absolutely love how effortless and yet fun and sassy it was! Plus, the colors are great for Fall haha..

The pieces I chose to recreate the look are a simple: a pair of black pumps that you can find at Forever21 , a black high low skirt from Haute Hippie(it's a little pricey and there are definitely other options)here is a similar one from Charlotte Russe the wine colored crop top that I found is also more pricey being it's from Elizabeth and James (Chic Wish has a similar one for a lot less), and I believe she is carrying a Nano Celine handbag but I found a much less version from H&M!

I absolutely love Fall, and I have definitely found my style and tastes start to change a lot here lately. With that being said... I am sure there will be a lot more fashion posts coming from me!

DIY Zombie Wound for Halloween

I recently started getting in to special effects makeup, which is something I have NEVER even attempted before. Anyways... while looking around online I came across a way to do a wound that looked simple enough. It wasn't in a video though, only a few pictures. So I decided to give it a try and see if it was as simple to do as it looked..... IT TOTALLY WAS!!

Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got the idea from exactly. I was just looking around for different ideas and came across this one using just regular makeup products instead of the things you might find in a kit from Wal-Mart. But I tried it out and decided to film it while doing so.

Here is a my first time ever doing any sort of special effects makeup haha!

DIY Home Decor: Drab to Fab Kitchen

There is one thing that I love just as much as beauty, fashion, and party planning.... and that is finding cheaper alternatives to decorating.. Needless to say, I definitely spend quite a bit of time on Pinterest haha! If you follow me on there then you would definitely be aware of this.

One of my favorite pins that I have come across has been super cheap ways to do some kitchen upgrades. So I thought I would share them with you all!

I came across some pins from the DIY network on how to paint your laminate countertops.. I had no idea that they actually make a kit just to do this!!

It's so crazy what a huge transformation it is! The kits are sold for around $200, which is far less than what actual granite would cost you. So it's definitely a great alternative if you are in a crunch for money.

I also love the look of white or off-white cabinets, and it's so amazing how big of a change it is just to change the color of your cabinets.. no matter what the color may be!

Of course there are so many more little DIY tips and tricks I have found for the house, but I didn't want to share it all in one post haha!

Mixing Separates

I really love the idea of mixing and matching separates for whatever occasion it may be.. For this fall look I searched around on Forever 21 (ya know.. because I am OBSESSED with them haha) and put together this entire outfit! I love using them for outfit inspiration because they have a variety of different styles and I feel like they are super inexpensive.

So to start off I found these burgundy woven shorts that have a bit of a dressy feel to them, and then found a laced crop top that was long sleeved. Since it is fall I recommend to throw on some tights for some extra warmth as well. Forever 21 has a variety of different black booties to choose from, I personally have a pair from there that I am obsessed with haha!

For accessories I went with more of a simple look and found these silver angular rings (or you could do gold), and this black handbag with some gold detailing. Voila! There is a simple/dressy outfit for day or night put together by mixing separates.

Funky Fall Fashion

                   
      

Oh how I can just smell the pumpkin spice already.... in EVERYTHING haha! The weather here is slowly starting to feel more like fall each and every day, and I couldn't be more excited! Truthfully, I would love nothing more than for it to be fall all year round...

Another reason why I love fall would definitely be the fashions. I feel like there are so many more options when it comes to what you can wear, simply because you can mix some of your summer wardrobe in with your winter clothes.

I truly love putting together inexpensive looks to blog about, by searching around online and getting inspired by all the colors and textures. So of course I couldn't help but to do a new look for you all. This entire outfit can be found online at Forever 21!

Right now I have a slight obsession with how stylish and totally effortless pairing a skater skirt with a graphic t-shirt is, so I found this Paris one (because I also have an obsession with all things Paris haha), and this black rose printed skater skirt. I didn't want to do all black accessories or shoes so I chose some brown faux leather booties. Besides it's 2014, wearing browns and blacks together is completely fine! Then for a pop of color I chose a mint colored statement bib necklace.. I went with a second pop of color for this look, and chose a fall colored mustard yellow faux leather satchel as well.

Ipsy August Unboxing! (A few weeks late haha)

Ok so if we are being technical... I didn't "technically" open it late. I'm just posting it to here a lil late haha! I subscribed to Ipsy about 4-5 months ago and my original plan was to upload an unboxing every month. Well to be totally honest with you I thought my first one SUCKED! Lol! But since then I have liked almost everything I have received. So far on my YouTube channel I have two unboxing videos up. Here is my most recent one...

To be totally fair.. I do have to admit that even though I wasn't digging my first bag, the $10 a month has been totally worth it. I have already received probably over $100 in products just in the last 4 months! Which is great because it's definitely helped me cut down on my monthly spending habits haha!

Business Attire OOTD

As I told you guys before, I am getting my blog caught back up with posts and videos. I basically sorta went MIA for about a month, which I don't think I have done since I started this blog over three years ago! I have really tried to stay as dedicated to it as possible. Writing/blogging is definitely a HUGE passion of mine, and I am always feeling inspired to write about something new!

With that quick little ramble I feel like this part fashion blog is well overdue for a quick OOTD... so check out my outfit for a business meeting.

One big tip I have is to invest in a great hand bag that is a decent size, and carry a pair of flats with you at all times. I promise this is going to make a huge difference in your life on days you have to wear heels ALL DAY LONG!

Gel Mani Without a Light?!?!?!? Whaaaaa?!

Sally Hansen has recently come out with a new and (I say improved) way of doing a gel mani.

Let's just say that it's super simple, takes the same amount of time as just regularly painting your nails, is just 2 simple steps, comes in FORTY FIVE SHADES, NO LIGHT REQUIRED, and is suppose to last 2 weeks! Seriously guys, I am dying to go out right now and buy this haha!

Sally Hansen has given this product the hashtag, #MiracleMani, and I'm not too sure I even disagree with that!

The Miracle Gel product retails for around $14.99 at Target and the individuals colors without the top coat vary, but are around $7-8! 

To be totally honest with you guys, I am a little bit ashamed that I didn't know about this sooner... guess I really need to shop the beauty aisles more often than I have been haha!

Rainbow Hair Trend

Seems like the last couple years having multi colored, or bright colored hair, is definitely starting to be a huge trend! I feel like Katy Perry really got the ball rolling a few years ago, or maybe even Kelly Osbourne. Either way it's a HUGE trend in Hollywood right now!

Even in my world, outside of Hollywood, my friends are no strangers to crazy and fun hair colors!

Both of these lovely ladies are always experimenting and trying fun colors and I am always in love with the results.... just wish that I had the courage to try something so fun! After all.. you're only young once right? Haha! My personal favorite is an ombre-rainbow type, as opposed to an all-over color.
