This fall the number one makeup trend seems to be a bold lip! I love this, and I have always kinda been the one to not really care if it's "in season" or not haha... I just feel like if you love it then wear it! There are a few steps to follow in order to pick out your perfect shade and then to pull it off.
STEP 1: Figure out your undertone! If you don't know for sure whether you have cool or warm undertones a cool trick is to put your hair up in a white towel and wrap a white towel around you, if your skin looks bluish then you have cool undertones and if it looks yellowish then you have warm undertones!!
STEP 2: Prep your lips by exfoliating once a week. Also, apply a lipbalm a few minutes before applying any other products to your lips, this will help prevent flaky lips!
HOT SHADE NO. 1: Merlot or Burgandy shades are perfect for fall! For fair skin if the dark contrast is too much for your skin tone then go for a gloss!!
If your skin is more medium and you have cool tones go for a blue red shade. If your skin is more warm go for an orange based color!!
If your skin is darker go for a deeper shade with a glossy finish! Darker skin tones can pull off darker lips!!
HOT SHADE NO. 2: BERRY!! For fair skin choose something a little brighter but pinky. Medium skin pick shades with a true berry hue. Lastly, for darker skin tones pick a deep berry color!
HOT SHADE NO. 3: Next up is Fuchsia!! For those fair and medium skinned go for a bright true fuchsia shade... For darker tones go for maybe a magenta shade.
HOT SHADE NO. 4: NEXT WE HAVE METALLICS, BE SURE TO CHOOSE THESE VERY CAREFULLY FOR YOUR SKIN TONES THOUGH!
HOT SHADE NO. 5: I feel like this next one is a no brainer haha... BRICK RED!! If you have fair skin choose a color with a matte finish! For medium tones find a shade with an orangey rust to it... and for darker tones go for a true brown red!!
NOW TO GET A PERFECT APPLICATION WITH GREAT STAYING POWER DON'T FORGET TO USE A LIPLINER!!
bold red lips and fun fuchsias,
